The International School Psychologist Association (ISPA) was officially founded in 1982 under the leadership of the late Dr. Calvin D. Catterall (USA), its first president, Anders Poulsen (Denmark), and a growing dedicated group of school psychologists from around the world. The major aims of ISPA include building a worldwide network of school and educational psychologists who promote equitable school psychology practices, the mental well-being of students, and advocating for students and families (ISPA, 2011). Additionally, ISPA is committed to collaborating with other organizations with similar missions.
